SOUND EFFECTS / DUBBING

Become a Foley artist by recording the sound of a film sequence with recycled materials!
Film is a series of moving pictures, but we often forget that the sound is just as important as the picture. Do you know how rain and fire sounds like plastic? After some demonstrations and practices you will learn the secrets of Sound Effects and discover how movies are created behind the scenes.
HOLOGRAM 3D PRE-PREPARED FILM

Create your own hologram support that projects a film like Star Wars!
You will see a jellyfish, a hummingbird and a butterfly floating in the air! After an introduction to the technique of frame-by-frame animation, this workshop revisits the beginnings of Eadweard Muybridge’s discovery and the evolution of optical illusion.
PRAXINOSCOPE

Make your own cartoon with the 19th century technology, using the Praxinoscope!
Invented in 1877, it is one of the most funny optical illusion devices to discover! After presenting the history of cinema and its evolution through the technology of optical toys such as the flipbook, the Strobotop, the Praxinoscope and many more, each child will learn to create their own cartoon on the Praxinoscope. It creates animation movement through the use of a series of 12 images. Thanks to this ancient tool, you can see your drawing come to life in the Praxinoscope!
MAGIC LANTERN

Build your own Magic Lantern projecting pictures like in the 17th century! It is the ancestor of the video projector and actually the first picture projection device! A fun way to get together and make art!
REVERSED FILM MAKING

Get out of their comfort zone and learn how to use creativity at work. Have you ever dreamt of being in Matrix and talking backwards? Inspired by a film technique used by Michel Gondry; your movements, your words will appear right side up although everything will be filmed upside down!
CAMERA OBSCURA

Change the perspective of reality to your birthday event with an ancient analog intrument!
It only takes a few things to alter our vision of the outside world. You can see your surroundings as if you were inside a real camera obscura by looking through a small hole and a cardboard case. So much fun and such a nice (re)discovery!
STROBOTOP

Strobotop combines tradition and modernity, allowing simple and practical implementations of techniques that predate cinema. An animation becomes visible when an illustrated turntable with pictures on it is lit by a mini strobe light. After an introduction to the technique of frame-by-frame animation, this workshop revisits the beginnings of Eadweard Muybridge’s discovery and the evolution of optical illusion.
MUTOSCOPE

Children will understand and discover how cartoons were created in the 19th century by entering the universe of illusion optical devices. The Mutoscope is assembled photographs on a wheel and mechanically flipped through with a crank. The images are visualized in rapid succession, giving an impression of movement.
STOP MOTION

Collaboration & Creativity Event! Stop motion is a filming technique in which successive positions of multiple kind of objects are photographed to produce the appearance of movement. Collaborating on a stop motion short film makes your colleagues approach constraints differently; they have to deal with cinematographic notions such as story pace, picture frames and most importantly, they have to agree within a short time slot.
